Training

The National Certificate in Woodturning is a woodturner training scheme overseen by the National Association of Woodworkers and delivered to NAW members by affiliated clubs who choose to undertake this programme.

There is an initial introductory stage followed by a series of compulsory and elective modules. Each module has time with a tutor and further time at home or using club lathes to complete work without tutor assistance.

For even more reading there are typed notes for each training module.

Clubs may choose differing timing, such as evenings, weekends, or week days, to deliver this training. They may also choose what equipment, wood, and other supplies they provide, or ask the student to pay for.
